We are all volunteers We all have day jobs, and do not receive a salary for A4A work, and pay for our own travel.
Donations go to the projects, not high administrative costs We keep all costs to a minimum and work from home offices so as to keep admin costs very low. Less administrative costs means more money for the projects.
We believe in partnership, not aid We work with communities that develop their own goals and initiatives. They choose the projects and we support them in partnership.
We believe in access to education for all Education means access to jobs, decision making, and empowerment. For the children, it also means access to healthcare, food, and water.
We are not affiliated with a religion or a government We are completely independent and decide on projects based on research and connections that we make.
We work with the local communities to empower them We want to make sure the community has a sense of ownership on projects. We use local outsourcing and capacity building to engage and involve everyone.
We strive for sustainable operations We provide the initial investment, but not operational funds. We make sure from the beginning that the project has a plan for continued operations.
We are a multinational team We are a team composed of members from the USA, Canada, Poland, France, UK, Australia, and Kenya - thus providing a variety of global perspectives on our initiatives.
We care for the environment We strive for environmental stewardship and governance, and consider cultural and natural preservation in all projects.
We value your input As a donor or volunteer you are welcome to give us your opinions and suggestions on our projects. We value collaboration.
